Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) – the solar industry’s lobbying group at the national level – represents 1,100 member companies. SEIA advocates for solar energy as well as sponsors seminars, conferences and workshops, like the Solar Decathlon, hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. every two years.

California Solar Energy Industries Association

California Solar Energy Industries Association (CALSEIA) – the solar industry’s lobbying group in California – promotes solar energy and hosts solar events in the Golden State. In addition, CALSEIA files complaints and protests with the California Public Utilities Commission, such as opening up the right to distributed generation of electricity for companies other than utilities.

American Solar Energy Society

American Solar Energy Society (ASES) – a non-profit association dedicated to solar education and adoption – ASES does many things, including keeping track of solar-legislation successes; publishing the bi-monthly magazine Solar Today; and coordinating free Solar Tours in conjunction with other organizations, like Sierra Club’s LA Beyond Coal Campaign.

Grid Alternatives – GRID Alternatives’ mission is to empower communities in need by providing renewable energy and energy efficiency services, equipment and training. International Solar Energy Society

International Solar Energy Society (ISES) – a non-profit, non-governmental organization – will team up with ASES to co-host the World Energy Forum 2012. Both organizations were founded in 1954. ISES publishes the frequently released (sometimes twice per month) scientific journal, Solar Energy.

Solar Electric Power Association

Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA), along with SEIA, sponsors the annual event, Solar Power International. SEPA also conducts fact-finding missions for its 850 members, some of which are utilities considering solar-electric generation. California and New Jersey utilities ranked nationally in the top 10 for “Annual Solar MW [megawatts]”; “Annual Solar Watts-per-Customer”; and “Cumulative Solar MW [megawatts].”

The League of California Homeowners

The League of California Homeowners (LCH) – a state advocacy group formed in 1993 – completes due diligence research to make sure that there are no negative judgments against contractors. Verengo Solar has been LCH-approved since 2008!

The Contractors State License Board

The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) is part of the California Department of Consumer Affairs. The CSLB provides certifications, regulations and enforcement of violations to ensure the long-term success of the solar energy industry in America’s most populous state.
